Degrees of craziness

Interestingly (or is that sadly, while the health care system in Canada is satisfied that I'm sane enough to have SRS and the costs are partially reimbursable by my health care insurance provider upon provision of a itemized receipt, they won't co-pay for electrolysis until I get a letter from a psychiatrist stating that I'm traumatized by the nasty facial hair.

Hello?

I have to be well balanced, relatively normal and coherent to qualify for my surgery yet I have to a mess to have electrolysis.

Bangs head...

Trans guys (girls too)

Hello,

I have been transitioning for some years now. Four years to be exact. I don't really take part in the community stuff so I am pretty out of the loop. I was wondering if there are any meeting events for guys like me. You know, like hang out, maybe at a bar or a game of whatever, well hopefully not right now because of the cold.

I am located in Toronto, up in North York, but can TTC my way downtown any time.

An idea and a challenge

Last weekend Vancouver's Trans Alliance Society put on our second annual Holiday Party. We had turkey dinner with all the trimmings (plus vegan alternatives), music, Santa and gifts for everyone. We arranged this because too many people in our community don't have family to celebrate the holidays with anymore. Chosen family being the alternative to blood family, we have chosen to open our hearts to all our family whether we know you yet or not. You do have family to spend the holiday with, if you look around a bit.

Okay, this is good for the trans community of Vancouver, but what about everyone else? This is where the challenge comes in: We're not being jealous of our idea. We're not holding copyright on it so if you want to hold a similar event in your home town, we won't do anything but cheer you on (except maybe tell you how we made our arrangements to help you get started).

It would be beyond fantastic to see this event take root and spread to other cities the same way the DOR did. It's time we spread a little joy around. So who wants to take the challenge?

Xposted here and there.

Trans PULSE survey

Hey, my name's JC and I'm a transguy from Toronto. I heard about this Trans PULSE survey a while ago but I must have completely forgot up until now. I think it's a really cool idea, however, and I'm interested in completing it. I used to be kind of involved in the loop in the community but lately I had been real busy with school. Does anyone have a survey code they could pass on to me? Does anyone know if the thing is still ongoing?

Question

Hey. I just recently moved from Middle Of Nowhere to Winnipeg and was wondering, since my therapist from Middle Of Nowhere told me of a FTM meeting every first Tuesday of every month, I was wondering if that's still going and if it's just the same old, same old or if new guys could join?
Happy holidays people!
